STOCKS/ECONOMY
-Stock futures are higher after Tuesday's 105-point gain for the Dow, larger 0.6 percent gain for the S&P 500, and a 0.6 percent rise for the Nasdaq. Investors are responding positively to lighter than expected inflation data and some trade deal news.
-Those inflation numbers came in at a 0.1 percent gain for May, compared to the 0.1 percent expected. The annual inflation rate came in at 2.4 percent, as expected.
-The yield on the 10-year Treasury bond is down to 4.45 percent.
-Gold is at the $3,360 per ounce level. Bitcoin is at the $109,700 level.
-Asian markets closed higher today. The Hang Seng rose 0.8 percent, the Nikkei gained 0.5 percent, and the Shenzhen advanced 0.8 percent.
OIL/ENERGY
-U.S. crude prices are up and at the $66 a barrel level.
-Gasoline prices are holding at $3.12 a gallon, national average.
TRADE WARS
-U.S. and Chinese negotiators say they've reached the framework of a trade deal after two days of talks in London. But there are still many unresolved details and Presidents Trump and Xi must still sign off on the deal. President Trump has said that China has agreed to make sure its rare earths supplies continue to come into the U.S.
GOOGLE GOUGE
-Google is offering another series of buyouts to employees in a number of its divisions, including search. This move may be the result of Grok continuing to cut into Google's search engine market share. Google parent Alphabet (GOOGL) shares are flat in the premarket.
EARNINGS SCORECARD
-Meme stock GameStop (GME) reported quarterly revenues that came in $150 million lower than the same quarter a year ago. Its shares are down 5 percent in the premarket.
-Dave & Buster's (PLAY) reported a smaller than expected drop in same store sales. Its shares are up 6 percent in the premarket.
QUANTUM LEAP
-Nvidia (NVDA) CEO Jensen Huang says quantum computing is almost set to be implemented at a number of tech companies. Quantum computers are machines that use the laws of quantum mechanics to solve problems too complex for classical computers. Nvidia shares are flat in the premarket, but a number of quantum computing developers are up, including Quantum Computing (QUBT) are up 9 percent in the premarket, while Rigetti Computing (RGTI) shares are up 6 percent.
FOOD FIGHT
-A cyberattack on United Natural Foods (UNFI) has hurt supplies at grocery chains like Whole Foods and other grocery chains that company supplies. United Natural Foods shares are up 3 percent in the premarket after falling 10 percent Tuesday.
