STOCKS/ECONOMY

-Stock futures are higher as investors prepare for a week filled with key Big Tech company earnings reports.

-The yield on the 10-year Treasury bond is down to 4.37 percent.

-Gold is at the $3,381 per ounce level. Bitcoin is at the $118,000 level.

-Asian markets closed higher today. The Hang Seng rose 0.7 percent, the Shenzhen gained 0.9 percent. The Nikkei was closed for the Marine Day national holiday.

OIL/ENERGY

-U.S. crude prices are flat and at the $67 a barrel level.

-Gasoline prices are down to $3.14 a gallon, national average.

CAR TROUBLE

-Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge parent company Stellantis (STLA) says it expects to post a $2.7 billion for the first half of the year because of tariff pressures. Its shares are flat in the premarket.

HACK ATTACK

-Microsoft (MSFT) has issued an alert about “active attacks” on server software used by government agencies and businesses to share documents. It's also recommending security updates that customers should apply immediately. Microsoft shares are down slightly in the premarket.

-In what could be a story related to the Microsoft issues, Alaska Airlines (ALK) had to implement a complete ground stop of its entire fleet Sunday night because of an IT issue. Alaska Air shares are up 1 percent in the premarket.

PIZZA PARTY

-Domino's Pizza (DPZ) reported same-store sales rose by 3.4 percent, beating analysts' estimates of a 2.2 percent gain. Domino's shares are up 4 percent in the premarket.

GOOD CONNECTIONS

-Verizon (VZ) reported better than expected quarterly profits and revenues, and also rose its profit forcasts. Its shares are up 5 percent in the premarket.

PHARMA FAIL

-The FDA is pulling its support for Elevidys, a gene therapy developed by Sarepta Therapeutics (SRPT) used to treat Duchenne muscular dystrophy, after another patient death during drug trials. Sarepta shares are down 9 percent in the premarket.

STEEL EARNINGS

-Steel maker Cleveland Cliffs (CLF) reported a smaller than expected quarterly loss. Its shares are up 6 percent in the premarket.

JOINING THE CLUB

-Fintech company Block (XYZ) will join the S&P 500 index on July 23. Its shares are up 10 percent in the premarket.
